Advertising, Affiliate, and Sponsored-Content Policy

Earthly News separates advertising and commercial material from independent editorial content. Readers should be able to understand when content, links, products, or recommendations involve a commercial relationship.

Display advertising

Display advertisements may appear around editorial content. They are supplied by advertising partners and are separate from the editorial decisions of Earthly News.
The presence of an advertisement does not mean Earthly News endorses the advertiser, product, service, or claim. Advertisers do not control independent editorial coverage.

Sponsored content

Sponsored content is content created, commissioned, or funded by an advertiser, brand, agency, or other commercial partner. It must be clearly labeled near the headline or in another prominent location with wording such as:
•Sponsored content
•Paid partnership
•Advertiser-supported content
•Promotional content
•Advertisement
The sponsor or commercial partner should be identified where appropriate. Sponsored content should not be designed to look like independent editorial content without clear disclosure.
Sponsored content may be subject to agreed commercial requirements, but it must not contain fabricated facts, deceptive claims, undisclosed endorsements, or unlawful material. Earthly News may reject or remove sponsored content that does not meet our standards.

Affiliate links

Some articles may contain affiliate links. If a reader purchases a product or service through an affiliate link, Earthly News may receive a commission at no additional cost to the reader.
Affiliate relationships do not guarantee a positive review or recommendation. Articles containing affiliate links should disclose that relationship clearly, for example:

Affiliate disclosure: Some links in this article are affiliate links. If you make a purchase through one of these links, Earthly News may earn a commission at no additional cost to you.
Affiliate disclosures should appear where readers can reasonably see them before or near the first affiliate link, not only on a separate legal page.

Product reviews and free products

Receiving a review sample, complimentary access, press invitation, discount, or other benefit does not guarantee favorable coverage. Where the relationship could affect how readers assess the article, it should be disclosed.
Reviews should distinguish between firsthand testing, manufacturer specifications, user reports, and editorial opinion. We do not claim to have tested a product when we have not.

Paid links and search disclosure

Paid links must be disclosed to readers and handled in accordance with applicable search-engine and advertising requirements. Commercial links should not be inserted in a way that misleads readers about their purpose or editorial importance.

Advertiser influence

Advertisers and sponsors may provide campaign information, product details, or factual corrections about their own services. They may not require Earthly News to publish inaccurate claims, suppress material facts, disguise advertising as independent reporting, or change an independent editorial conclusion solely because they disagree with it.

Separation from editorial decisions

The editorial team remains responsible for independent editorial decisions. Commercial staff, advertisers, and sponsors should not select or alter independent news judgments, headlines, corrections, author biographies, or editorial policies.
If a commercial relationship creates a conflict that cannot be managed transparently, Earthly News may decline the relationship.
